Ilhéus

Home of Jorge Amado, a city of Ilheus is certainly cultural vocation: it is here that was born the story best known of Amado, "Gabriela, Cravo e Canela".

The feeling is that every corner of this city is inspired by happy literary chapter. Bars, hotels and shops, in fact, seem to set exactly the pages of the story and does not take much to realize that the opposite is true: that is the account to be set on the streets of Ilheus.

The town overlooks the Atlantic coast, 400 km south of Salvador, Bahia, an area where the river is interrupted by five rivers that create a series of small lagoons, bays and canals.

Now the vast majority of them are upgraded and used for irrigation or even for light trucks but they are one of the most romantic and nice city which, like its twin Salvador, expands from a hill on the beach cake.

Among the monuments is certainly more details to remember the modern cathedral, built in 1930 in the Gothic style contemporary rather strange, that it sees turrets and pinnacles, silhouetted on a completely different urban context.

Oldest is the nearby church Matriz de Sao Jorge, overlooking Praccedil Rui Barbosa, and completed in 1556 in Baroque Portugal, today houses a museum of religious art of great importance.

Very nice also the church of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, with its massive structure dominating the river closer to downtown. Another characteristic of Ilheus, not at all changed since the days of Amado, are the local children that small bars, with their outdoor terrace, enliven the scene and squares.

The Vezuvio Praccedil Dom Eduardo in the cathedral square, is probably the most popular clubs in Brazil because, of Amado in the book, is the bar owned by the protagonist of his story, Nacib. A bit 'farther from the center is the concentration of bars overlooking the seaside promenade of Avenida Atlantica, one of the most popular of Ilheus.

The locals, quite simply, call the beach itself "Avenida" used to play football, run, dance, sing and meet.

L'un des derniers bastions du monde ou la nature exhibe fierement sa beauté indéniable. Camamu Il s'agit de la baie de la troisieme plus grande au Brésil apres la Baie de Tous les Saints, l'état de Bahia, et la baie de Guanabara a Rio de Janeiro.

La baie doit aller a bord d'un bateau de pecheur ou un bateau de peche rapide ( speed boat c' est facil la location sur place ), de sorte que vous pouvez visiter et se baigner dans les plages
